GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Batavia woman charged in Social Services investigation

Stephanee M. Surabian, 33, of State St. Rd., Batavia, is charged with 5 counts of offering a false instrument for filing 1st degree and 1 count of grand larceny 3rd, all felony charges, after an investigation by the Genesee County Department of Social Services.

Surabian allegedly failed to report that the father of her children was also residing in the home, or that he was earning wages. As a result, Surabian received $7,919.00 in SNAP benefits she was not entitled to.

Surabian was arraigned in Batavia Town Court on October 15, 2021 and released on her own recognizance and will appear at a later date.

Charles E. Ford, 57, of Woodfield Rd., Baldwin, NY, is charged with criminal trespass 2nd after Ford was located by a homeowner sleeping inside their vehicle that was parked in their attached garage in the town of Batavia on October 18, 2021.

Ford was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and released on an appearance ticket.
