GENESEE COUNTY/Batavia man facing felony charges after disturbance at hotel

On December 15, 2021, Genesee County Dispatchers received a call for a disturbance at the Quality Inn and Suites at 8250 Park road in Batavia.

An investigation revealed that Tarrence Y. Williams, 22, of Porter avenue, Batavia, allegedly choked another person at the hotel. Williams was taken into custody and was allegedly found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine.

A search warrant was executed on a room that Williams rented at the hotel, and alleged illegal firearm was located.

On December 16, 2021, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and the Genesee County Local Drug Task Force arrested Williams, charging him with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, a class B felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance 4th degree, a class C felony, criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony, criminal obstruction of breathing and blood circulation, a class A misdemeanor, and menacing 3rd, a class B misdemeanor.

Williams was arraigned in Batavia Town Court and bail was set at $5,000. He is to re-appear in court on January 25, 2022.

The City of Batavia Police Department and the Genesee County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
