Matthew E. Craven, 33, of Silver Springs, was arrested following a traffic stop on North Main Street in the Village of Silver Springs on January 1, 2022.
Craven was observed by police operating a 2004 Honda Accord on North Main Street, and police were aware that Craven had a revoked NYS identification card and no driver’s license. Craven was stopped on North Main Street at which time the odor of burning marijuana was detected emanating from within the vehicle.
Craven was found to have multiple marijuana smoking paraphernalia inside his vehicle along with other prescription medication. Craven was also found to have a three-year-old child riding in the vehicle with him at the time. Craven’s operating privileges were also confirmed to be revoked for refusing to submit to a chemical test, and there was also a suspension for failure to pay driver responsibility assessment fee.
Craven was subsequently asked to perform roadside field sobriety testing and following Craven’s poor performance on the tests he was taken into custody for DWAI/Drugs. Craven ultimately refused to cooperate with any further testing, and he also refused to submit to a chemical test.
Craven was then transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing. He is charged with aggravated DWI/child in vehicle, a class E felony, DWAI/Drugs, DWAI/Combination of Drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a class E felony, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, and unlicensed operator.
Craven was arraigned in front of the Warsaw Village Court where an additional suspension was issued for his refusal to submit to a chemical test. Craven is scheduled for a further court appearance in Silver Springs Village Court on January 24, 2022.
Craven, who was on probation at the time of this arrest, was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail, $20,000.00 bond, or $30,000.00 partially secured bond.

The report of domestic violence incident in the Town of Arcade led to the arrest of an Arcade man on December 30, 2021.
Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies along with the New York State Police responded to Triton Valley Estates on Michigan Road in the Town of Arcade following the reported incident. Following an investigation, it was alleged that Ernest Bogardus, 30, of Arcade, damaged kitchen cabinets and also endangered the welfare of three children who were also inside of the residence at the time of the incident. Bogardus was also found to be in possession of metal knuckles.
Bogardus was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree, a class D felony, criminal mischief 4th degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Bogardus was arraigned in Warsaw Court and was held in lieu of $20,000 cash bail, $40,000 bail bond, or $75,000 partially secured bond. He is scheduled to appear at Arcade Town Court on January 6, 2022.
