NYS Police Report/January 7, 2022

On January 4, 2022, Jerald Kibler, 56, of Arcade, was arrested for aggravated harassment in the second degree.

On December 15, 2021, Troopers in Machias received a complaint of threats made via voice mail. 

An investigation revealed that Kibler allegedly left a threatening voice mail on a friend’s cell phone, leading to his arrest.  Kibler was arraigned in Yorkshire town court on behalf of Freedom town court and released.

Kibler will re-appear in Freedom town court in January.

On January 5, 2022, Martin Ellis, 59, of Freedom, was arrested for DWI while driving in the Village of Arcade.

Troopers in Machias conducted a traffic stop on Ellis in the village of Arcade after he was observed allegedly crossing the center line multiple times. 

Upon investigation, Ellis allegedly displayed multiple signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking alcohol prior to driving.  He failed field sobriety tests and was transported to State Police in Machias for processing.  Ellis provided a breath sample which produced a BAC of 0.07%.  Ellis was then released on appearance tickets.

He will re-appear in Arcade village court in January.
