WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Warsaw man facing felony charges after domestic incident

Holden W. Byer, 30 of Warsaw, was arrested following a domestic incident on Route 19 in the Town of Warsaw on January 8, 2022.

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police, and Warsaw Police responded to a residence following the report of Byer hitting a female victim. Upon arrival, it was alleged that Byer had thrown a wooden chair leg at the female victim, just missing her. The chair leg was observed to have struck a wall, gone through the wall, and was protruding out the other side of the wall. Byer was also alleged to have struck the female victim multiple times on the head with his fist.

Byer was taken into custody without incident and is charged with attempted assault in the second degree, a class E felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony.

Byer was arraigned in the Warsaw Town Court where a non-offensive order of protection was issued. Byer was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail, $20,000.00 bond, or $40,000.00 partially secured bond. He re-appeared in Warsaw Town Court on January 10, 2022 for further proceedings.
