GENESEE COUNTY/Large turnout for the “Legends & Stars” Expo at Batavia Downs

The “Legends & Stars” Expo is going on at Batavia Downs this weekend inside the Park Place Events Center. On Saturday, Doug Flutie, Goose Gossage, Fred Jackson and James Lofton were on hand along with Bucky Dent, Lee Evans, Willis McGahee, Roscoe Parrish, Pete Metzelaars, Shaun Weis, Everson Walls and Vincent LaRusso.

“Goose” Gossage, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008, signs a baseball for a fan. Gossage played with the NY Yankees from 1978-1983 as their best closing pitcher.

Large crowds filled the Events Center at the Downs, as fans waited in line patiently to get their favorite player’s autograph in the signing area, while sports memorabilia shops and dealers were on hand selling from their collections.

If you didn’t get to stop by on Saturday, the show will continue tomorrow with signings by Bill Polian, Billy Shaw, Steve Tasker, Jason Taylor, Tyler Bass, Harrison Phillips, Hines Ward, Chad Johnson, Greg Lloyd, Gabriel Davis, Thurman Thomas, Michael Vick and Issiah McKenzie.
