BATAVIA/Main St. 56 Theater’s opening act for 2022/Love’s Labour’s Lost opens this weekend

One of Shakespeare’s earliest comedies that follows the King of Navarre and three of his companions as they attempt to swear off the company of women as for three years as they focus on studying and fasting. All of this becomes an impossibility as they become infatuated with the Princess of France and her beguiling court.

The Batavia Players will present Love’s Labour’s Lost/Shakespear in Springtime on March 4th, 5th and 6th.

It is the first production of the 2022 season at the theater group’s temporary space in Batavia City Centre which is located on the back (north side) of City Centre near Batavia Family Dental, look for the purple door.

The pandemic has put a pause on the construction of the permanent space for the Batavia Players at City Centre, so the group reunited in January to prepare for this weekends in person presentation of Love’s Labour’s Lost.

The show’s director says the crew of 18 has come together very quickly.
