The Genesee County Emergency Communications Center received a call of a disturbance at 10216 Alexander road in Alexander at about 9:59p.m. on March 11, 2022.
Upon arrival, deputies located two deceased Hispanic males inside a dwelling located on the property, with smoke coming from the dwelling. A fire that was started inside the building was extinguished and it was then determined that the two males were both victims of a homicide.
The investigation led to the identification of two suspects, Raul Cruz, 18, of Warsaw, NY and Prince N. K. Wilson, 23, of Albion. A short time after the incident, Prince was located in Batavia and taken into custody. Efforts to locate the second suspect continued into the afternoon of March 12, 2022, Cruz was located in the Village of Warsaw after a 9-hour manhunt.
Both Cruz and Prince are each charged with murder 2nd degree. Both were arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court, and both were jailed without bail.
The investigation indicates that this was an isolated incident and there is not threat to public safety. The identity of the victims is being withheld pending notification to the families.
The investigation is being conducted by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, NYS Police, Warsaw Police, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, Albion Police, Orleans County Sheriff’s Office, NYS DEC, Genesee County Emergency Management Office and the Alexander Fire Department.
The investigation is ongoing. No other information will be released at this time.
