WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Four-time convicted felon charged in traffic stop in Warsaw

Del D. Sprague, 50, of Silver Springs, a four-time convicted felon, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 19 near Miller Road in the Town of Warsaw on March 16, 2022.

Sprague was stopped for a traffic infraction at which time he was found to be driving with a non-driver identification card with 17 active suspensions/revocations. Sprague was taken into custody, and a subsequent vehicle search led to the discovery of multiple glassine envelopes containing suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale, and multiple other drug paraphernalia items. Sprague is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd degree, aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree [2 counts], unlicensed operation, and following too closely.

Sprague was issued an appearance ticket to answer the charges in the Town of Warsaw Court on March 28, 2022.

Deputies located a disabled vehicle on State Route 39 in the Town of Eagle that resulted in the arrest of the owner/operator, Ryan T. Wicker, 25, of Geneseo, NY, for DWAI/ drugs and criminal use of drug paraphernalia on March 15, 2022.

Upon investigation, deputies located the operator, Ryan Wicker, near his vehicle after he had reportedly run out of gas. Wicker was allegedly showing general indicators of impairment and was asked to submit to field sobriety testing. Wicker failed field tests and was taken into custody for DWAI, where he then agreed to submit to an evaluation by a drug recognition expert (DRE). Following the DRE evaluation, it was determined that Wicker was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.

Wicker was also found to allegedly be in possession of a digital scale with a white powdery substance on it and a glass smoking device. As a result, Wicker was additionally charged with criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd degree. Wicker is charged with the following:
VTL 1192(4) DWAI Drugs
VTL 1192(4a) DWAI Drugs Combo
PL 220.50(3) Criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree
He was processed and issued appearance tickets for all charges and is due back in the Town of Eagle Court on March 28, 2022.
