PERRY POLICE REPORT/Perry man charged with animal abuse, accused of throwing a 10–12-week-old dog

PERRY, NY- Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Perry resident on a misdemeanor charge following an investigation by the Perry Police Department.

Following an investigation from March 17th, 2022, Michael B. Salamone, 24, of Perry was arrested on charges of animal abuse.

The investigation was prompted from an eyewitness report. The investigation revealed that
Salamone was also recorded on home security cameras picking up and throwing a ten-twelve-week-old female Pit Bull for no apparent reason.

Salamone was processed and charged with Agriculture & Markets Law 353- Torturing or Injuring an Animal on 03/21/2022 and processed at Perry PD. Salamone has a return court date of 04/12/2022 at 1:00PM at Perry Village Court.

The animal was surrendered to Wyoming County Animal Control without incident. Animal Control reports that the puppy has no apparent injuries at first sight, and she was scheduled for future veterinary appointments so that she could be adopted.
