WYOMING COUNTY/Former Chamber of Commerce employee pleads guilty, will pay restitution, faces up to 15 years in prison

On Thursday, March 17, 2022, Kelly Ashcraft, age 45, of Warsaw, NY, waived Indictment before the Honorable Michael M. Mohun and pleaded guilty to grand larceny 2nd degree, a class C felony, forgery 2nd degree, a class D felony, and falsifying business records 1st degree, a class E felony.

Sentencing was adjourned until June 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.

As part of the guilty plea, Ashcraft agreed to pay restitution in the amount of $105,024.78. There were no promises made to the defendant regarding sentencing, she faces up to 15 years in NYS prison when she is sentenced.

At the appearance before Judge Mohun, Ashcraft admitted that she stole $105,024.78 from the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce, forged the signature of an employee of the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce, and omitted to make entries in the business records of the Chamber as required by her duty.

This case was a result of an investigation by Chief Pete Hoffmeister of the Warsaw Police Department.

The case was prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Vincent A. Hemming. Michael Manusia, Esq. represented the defendant.
