GENESEE COUNTY/Two ejected from motorcycle at Clinton street and Seven Springs road intersection

A motorcycle collided with a dump truck on Friday afternoon about 12:30p.m. at the intersection of Clinton street road and Seven Springs road.

According to Sgt. Sanfratello with the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department, the motorcycle, a 1998 Kawasaki, was headed east on Clinton street road and collided with a northbound dump truck under the traffic light in the intersection.

The 62-year-old male operator, Dana McGill, of Batavia, and his 44-year-old female passenger, Carrie L. Hensley, of Batavia, were both ejected from the motorcycle after it struck the rear wheels of the dump truck.

According to Stafford Fire Chief Matt Hendershot, McGill was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital with life threatening injuries and Hensley was transported by Mercy ground ambulance to Strong Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation reveals the motorcycle did not have the right of way and failed to yield for the red light and struck the dump truck broadside.

The male 79-year-old driver of the dump truck, Jonathan Barefoot, of Caledonia, was not injured.

The accident is being investigated by Deputy Travis DeMuth, Deputy Jenna Ferrando, Deputy Jeremiah Gechel, Sgt. Thomas Sanfratello, Inv. Kevin Forsyth, Inv. Chad Minuto, Inv Joseph Loftus, Inv. Erik Andre, Crash Management Team Members- Sgt. Jason Saile and Deputy Richard Schildwaster. Assisting at the scene was Batavia Police, State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit, Mercy EMS, Stafford Fire, Town of Batavia Fire and South Byron Fire.
