Girl Scout Troop 60870, Brownies out of Spencerport, NY descended upon the south side of DeWitt Recreation Area on Cedar street on Saturday morning for Earth Day Clean up at the park.
Parent Christina Laniha says her two children, Willow, age 7, and Nora, age 5 were having a blast, it was their first time at DeWitt Recreational Area. The Troop has been coming to the park the past few years for Earth Day.
“The girls love it, they keep saying, oh my gosh, why would some people do this to our planet,” says Laniha.
Volunteers from the Batavia Target store were on hand this past Wednesday and cleaned up the north part of the walking trail.
Genesee County Parks and Recreation offered activities like making things with recycled materials along with guided nature hikes and outdoor games.
