NYS Police/Covington woman charged after stealing checks from mailboxes

After an investigation of many victims missing checks from their mailboxes, Troopers out of SP Warsaw arrested Paula Kingdollar, 52, of Covington, NY on two counts of forgery, a class D felony, and four counts of petit larceny on April 22, 2022.

According to State Police, Kingdollar was observed going through mailboxes in the early morning hours and after further investigation it was revealed that the checks the victims were missing had been deposited into Kingdollars checking account.

Kingdollar was arrested and processed at SP Warsaw, she was arraigned in the town of Warsaw court and released per New York State bail reform laws.

Kingdollar has a return court date in the town of Warsaw for June 20, 2022.

On April 21, 2022, at 8:00 p.m., Troopers out of SP Warsaw arrested Kodie R. Skeels, 24, of Varysburg, NY for driving while intoxicated, previous conviction within 10 years, refusal, open container in vehicle and resisting arrest.

Troopers responded to a car accident that occurred on Rt. 98 in the town of Sheldon on April 21, 2022. During the investigation it was determined that two additional vehicles that were parked had been struck. While interviewing Skeels about the accident, an odor of alcohol was detected. Skeels was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests.

Skeels became uncooperative while being taken into custody, a scuffle then occurred.

Skeels was eventually transported to Wyoming County Community Hospital to be evaluated. Skeels was released and transported to SP Warsaw for processing.

He was issued traffic tickets returnable to the town of Sheldon court for May 23, 2022.
