WYOMING COUNTY/Cheektowaga man involved in one vehicle accident in Attica

A Cheektowaga man failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway on Saturday morning, driving off the road and leaving a trail of destruction at an Attica residence.

Attica Police Chief Dean Hendershott reports that at approximately 12:45a.m. on Saturday morning, a gray 2016 Chevy Cruze was traveling east on Rt. 354 and failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into the backyard of 91 West Main street. The vehicle struck a ditch, became airborne, struck a shed, then a tree, uprooting the tree, crashing through a wooden hurricane fence and coming to rest behind the residence.

Attica Police, Attica Fire, and EMS along with a Monroe Medic responded to the scene.

The operator, James C. Boerschig, 50, of Cheektowaga, NY, was found standing next to the vehicle. Boerschig was turned over to EMS and transported to ECMC for evaluation. Boerschig did not have any significant injuries. 
The investigation is continuing with charges pending.
