Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Perry resident on several felony charges following an investigation by the Perry Police Department.
Shortly before 6:00a.m. on April 21st, 2022, Officer McKaylee Croll and Officer Austin Harding responded to a domestic dispute on Lake Street in the Village of Perry. Once on scene, officers discovered the suspect had fled the scene. Within minutes, the suspect, Vincent M. Strathearn, 26, of Perry, NY, was located and detained on Short Street in the Village of Perry.
An investigation on scene revealed that Strathearn was allegedly violating a court-issued order of
protection for physical contact and other crimes and was placed under arrest by officers.
He is charged with criminal contempt 1st degree, a class E felony, violating order of protection-physical contact, aggravated family offense-more than one offense within 5 years, a class E felony, and harassment 2nd, physical contact.
Due to the arrest, a search was conducted by Officer Harding. Subsequently, Strathearn was then also charged with criminal possession of a control substance after he admitted to not having a prescription for drugs allegedly discovered in his possession.
Strathearn was processed at Perry Police Department and arraigned in Perry Village Court. He was remanded to Wyoming County Jail and held on $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bond, or $40,000 partially secured bond.
Strathearn is to re-appear in Perry Village Court on May 10, 2022.
