WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/June 6, 2022

A traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign on Perry Road in the Town of Sheldon on June 5, 2022, has led to the arrest of the operator of the vehicle, Christopher E. Buettner, 48 of Buffalo, NY, for aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, unlicensed operator and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Buettner possessed a non-driver ID only, that currently had multiple active suspensions.

Buettner was processed roadside and released on an appearance ticket, and will appear in the Town of Sheldon Court on June 20, 2022, at 6:30 p.m.

On June 1, 2022, at approximately 8:22p.m., a deputy from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon after observing a violation of New York State vehicle and traffic law.

The operator of the vehicle identified himself as Jaiquan Coote, 22, of West Seneca, NY. Coote allegedly exhibited signs of impairment and was asked to submit to standardized field sobriety testing. Coote performed poorly and was subsequently arrested for DWAI/drugs.

He was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, where he did submit to a Drug Influence Evaluation conducted by a New York State certified Drug Recognition Expert. At the conclusion of the evaluation, the DRE advised that Coote was allegedly impaired by drugs and unable to operate a vehicle safely.

Coote is charged with DWAI/drugs and speeding in a zone. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.
