On June 3, 2022, The Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested David Del Carmen Ibarra, 21 years old, Alberto Ibarra Del Carmen, 36 years old and Jose L. Del Carmen Ibarra, 25 years old, for Assault 2nd degree (D Felony).
On June 3, 2022, Troopers out of SP Machias responded to Chaffee Hospital for three victims suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds. Further investigation revealed that the three suspects and three victims involved are migrant workers on a farm in Freedom, NY. The suspects stabbed the victims with a combination of items including a kitchen knife and beer bottles. The suspects were arrested and processed at SP Machias. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were contacted for the three suspects which are illegal aliens.
All suspects were arranged at the town of Freedom Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $50k cash bail.
The NYSP Forensic Identification Unit and the Cattaraugus County District Attorney’s Office assisted in this investigation.
