WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/June 14, 2022

On June 4, 2022, at approximately 10:12p.m., a deputy from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling on Route 98 in the Town of Java and a northbound vehicle crossed into the southbound lane, traveling at a high rate of speed, as it passed the patrol vehicle traveling southbound.

The deputy activated the emergency lights and siren on the patrol vehicle, at which point the suspect vehicle failed to yield for several miles. The suspect vehicle did eventually come to a stop on Curriers Road in the Town of Java.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Jamie Wozniak, 40, of Akron, NY. While speaking with Wozniak, the deputy observed signs of possible alcohol impairment and administered standardized field sobriety tests. Deputies say Wozniak performed poorly on the testing and was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

Wozniak was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, where he did submit to a chemical test. He is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or more, failure to keep right, speeding/over 55 MPH, failure to obey a police officer, refusal of a breath screening device and reckless driving.

Wozniak was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to the Town of Java Court at a later date.

Julio C. Rodriguez Delgado, 39, of Des Moines, Iowa, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 63 in the Town of Covington on June 3, 2022.

Rodriguez Delgado was stopped for speeding during a special speeding enforcement detail, and Rodriguez Delgado was found to be driving with no driver’s license. Rodriguez Delgado was further found to have four active suspensions in the State of New York for failure to answer traffic summonses.

During the arrest, Rodriguez Delgado was also found to allegedly possess hydrocodone and tramadol pills inside a fanny pack on his front seat. Rodriguez Delgado was arrested and issued an appearance ticket for the following charges:

[2] counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree

[1] count each of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree, Unlicensed Operation, and Speed Over 55MPH

Rodriguez Delgado was released from the scene to a valid driver, and Rodriguez Delgado was scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Covington Court on June 6, 2022.

Juan C. Garcia, 43, of Paterson, NJ, was arrested following a traffic stop on Hermitage Road at Centerline Road in the Town of Orangeville on June 8, 2022.

Garcia was the operator of a tow truck which was stopped for no turn signal. Garcia was found to be towing a box truck, and the tow truck was unlawfully being operated while displaying a dealer plate. Garcia produced a fraudulently produced New Jersey driver’s license which had his correct name but incorrect date of birth on it. Garcia was ultimately found to have an active warrant out of Orange County, NY, and Garcia was also found to have 8 active suspensions in New York State on a non-driver identification card only.

Garcia’s vehicles were removed from the scene by Eddy’s Collision, and Garcia was arrested and taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.

Garcia is charged with one class D felony, criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree. Garcia was additionally charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, unlicensed operation, no turn signal, and improper use of dealer plate.

He was arraigned in Wyoming County Court and released on his own recognizance in accordance with NYS Bail Reform, and he is scheduled to return to the Orangeville Town Court on October 5, 2022, for further court proceedings.

On June 5th, 2022, at around 5:05pm, Deputy Harding, with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a residence on Main Street in Strykersville for the report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident.

Once on scene, it was found that the operator of the vehicle that fled the scene, Aubrie Colkitt, 40, of Strykersville had walked back to the scene with her child, who was a front seat passenger at the time of the accident.

Deputy Harding investigated the accident and found that Colkitt was traveling southbound on Main Street when she became involved in a road rage incident and when she turned around in the middle of the roadway; her vehicle struck another vehicle that was parked in a private driveway. While investigating the accident, Deputy Harding believed Colkitt may be under the influence and began a roadside DWI investigation, which included standardized field sobriety testing. Following field sobriety testing, which Colkitt performed poorly, she was taken into custody for DWI and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where she submitted to a breath test, which showed a blood alcohol content of .08% or more.

Colkitt was ultimately charged with aggravated DWI w/child less than 16 years old (Leandra’s Law), DWI, operate a motor vehicle w/ .08% or more BAC and endangering the welfare of a child.

Colkitt was processed and released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.
