WYOMING COUNTY/Deputy involved in accident after being caught in a storm on Hermitage road

On June 16, 2022 at 1:55 a.m., Deputy Steve Miller was on duty and driving a marked Sheriff’s Office patrol car. He was enroute to a domestic incident in the Town of Arcade.

While traveling south on Hermitage Road between Wilder and Wethersfield Road, he entered a storm and lost control of the vehicle. He clipped one utility pole and struck another. There was no one else involved. Deputy Miller was transported by Monroe Ambulance to WCCHS for a back injury and released.

The crash is being investigated by Captain Erik Tamol and is continuing. Deputy Miller is a 29-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and is assigned the Criminal Investigations Division as a Forensic Technician. He was filling in on a midnight shift in the Patrol Division.
