PERRY, NY- Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Perry resident on two misdemeanor charges
following an investigation by the Perry Police Department.
On June 29, 2022, Matthew P. Sapetko, no age provided, of Perry, NY, was placed under arrest by Officer Croll and charged with assault 3rd degree/intent to cause physical injury and endangering the welfare of a child, after a joint investigation by the Perry Police Department and Wyoming County Child Protective Services.
Sapetko allegedly hit/struck a 4-year-old child in the face, causing a bruise to encompass most of the child’s left cheek.
During the investigation, Sapetko admitted to Officer Croll and several Child Protective Services
caseworkers that he hit the 4-year-old victim in the face. Sapetko was processed at the Perry Police Department and was arraigned in Perry Village Court by the Honorable Judge Kelsey.
In accordance with NYS bail reform, Sapetko was released on his own recognizance and is to re-appear in Perry Village Court on August 2, 2022.
