WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Arcade man with an active arrest warrant and criminal convictions found to be in possession of a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and ammunition

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jeremy J. Rung, 40, of Arcade, NY, on multiple charges following a traffic investigation on Route 246 at Burke Hill Road in the Town of Perry on July 5, 2022.

Deputies stopped to check on a disabled vehicle in which Rung was found to be the operator and only occupant of. Rung was found to have a suspended and expired NYS driver’s license, and during a probable cause vehicle search, he was found to allegedly be in possession of a Stihl hedge trimmer which had a serial number reported to have been previously stolen out of the State of New Jersey.

Further items located included an empty handgun holster and multiple boxes of ammunition. Rung was found to have criminal convictions in New York state and Texas, he was also found to have an active arrest warrant out of Texas. The jurisdiction Texas declined to extradite Rung for the warrant.

Following further investigation at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, Rung was determined to be in unlawful possession of a Hi-Point 9mm semi-automatic handgun inside his residence in the Village of Arcade. Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with the assistance of Arcade Police Department, seized the handgun from inside Rung’s residence.

Rung is charged as follows:

Town of Perry: Criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and unlicensed operation.

Village of Arcade: Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

Rung was issued appearance tickets for the above charges and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Perry Court on July 13, 2022, and in the Village of Arcade Court on July 14, 2022.

Mefibosep Quintana-Gomez, 46, of New Jersey, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Warsaw on July 9, 2022.

Quintana-Gomez was stopped for traffic infractions when he was found to have an active suspension for failure to answer a summons in Rockland County.

Quintana-Gomez was issued an appearance ticket for aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, no HUT permit, and no rear object detection device.

Quintana-Gomez is scheduled to appear in the Town of Warsaw Court on July 18, 2022, to answer the charges.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies arrested John R. Bly, 39, of Buffalo, NY, following a complaint in the Town of Eagle on July 5, 2022.

Bly was alleged to have made contact with a protected party in which he was prohibited by order of protection from contacting. During the contact, Bly was alleged to have attempted to coerce the victim.

He was arrested and charged with criminal contempt in the first degree and coercion in the third degree.

Bly was arraigned in Wyoming County Court where he was released to the pre-trial supervision program. He is scheduled to return to Wyoming County Court on July 27, 2022, for further proceedings.
