PERRY, NY- Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Perry resident following a domestic dispute.
On July 17, 2022, Perry Police officers were dispatched to a village residence for a report of a male that had “knocked out” a female.
Upon arrival, Sergeant Russell and Officer Cross observed a female victim, age 53, on the floor of her kitchen, unconscious but breathing.
Following an EMS response and short investigation, Randall P. Ayers, 62, was placed under arrest and charged with attempted assault 2nd after he allegedly broke a plate over the female’s head, causing her to fall to the floor and lose consciousness.
Ayers is also charged with criminal obstruction of breathing after allegedly punching another female and putting her in a headlock, as well as endangering the welfare of an incompetent person due to the incident occurring in the presence of a third person.
Ayers was arraigned in front of the Honorable Judge Kelsey. Bail was recommended at $20,000 cash, $40,000 bond, or $80,000 secured, but Ayers was ultimately released without bail on Pre-Trial Release by Judge Kelsey.
Ayers is ordered to return to court on 08/02/2022 at 1:00PM.
