PERRY POLICE REPORT/Pair from Warsaw charged after traffic stop

Perry, NY – Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrests of Sherene Bellaire and Shane Vasile, no age provided, both of Warsaw, NY.

On July 29 ,2022, the Perry Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Village of Perry for vehicle and traffic law violations. Upon stopping the vehicle and interacting with the driver, Officer David Spink believed the operator, Bellaire, was operating the motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Bellaire was asked to submit to standardized field sobriety tests and after failing to perform the tests as instructed, Officer Spink placed Bellaire under arrest for DWI. Bellaire was arraigned in Perry Village Court in front of the Honorable Tammy Kelsey. Judge Kelsey released Bellaire on her own recognizance with a return date of August 2, 2022, in Perry Village Court at 1:00pm.

While Bellaire was performing standardized field sobriety tests, Officer Harding was waiting with the passenger of the vehicle, Shane Vasile. During that time, it was determined that Vasile was in possession of a controlled substance. Officer Harding determined the substance to be methamphetamine and Vasile was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Vasile was also released on an appearance ticket with a return court date for August 2, 2022, in Perry Village Court at 1:00pm.
