PERRY POLICE REPORT/Churchville man charged after traffic stop

PERRY, NY- Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Churchville resident following an investigation by the Perry Police Department.

On August 3, 2022, at approximately 8:45p.m., Officer Spencer Kramell conducted a traffic stop on Route 246 for a vehicle and traffic law violation that occurred within the Village of Perry.  Upon interacting with the suspect, 18-year-old Alejandro Lisboa, of Churchville, NY, Officer Kramell observed a small baggie with pills in plain view within the motor vehicle.

Officer Kramell secured the pills which were identified as methylphenidate hydrochloride (Ritalin), which is a prescribed medication to treat ADHD.  After further investigation and interview with Lisboa, it was determined that the medication was not prescribed to him, and Lisboa was therefore illegally in possession of a controlled substance.  Lisboa also informed the officer that he was aware that he could not be in possession of the medication.

Lisboa was transported to the Perry Police Department where he was further interviewed and processed. He was released on his own recognizance per NYS bail reform laws and is to appear in Perry Village Court on 09/13/2022.
