PERRY, NY- Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Rochester man on assault charges following an investigation by the Perry Police Department.
On August 12th, 2022 at approximately 6:45p.m., the Wyoming County 911 Center received multiple calls for assistance at a village residence where callers reported multiple individuals had been assaulted with young children and a baby present.
Sergeant Russell and Officer Masci arrived on scene and determined the children to be safe and the incident to be a result of domestic violence.
The investigation revealed that 19-year-old Justice C. Green, originally from Rochester, NY, had become irate in the residence. The investigation revealed that Green allegedly physically struck a female, indirectly making contact with a child, who was uninjured. During this incident, Green restricted the female from being able to use her phone to make an emergency call. Eventually, another male in the residence was able to intervene, but was ultimately assaulted when he was allegedly punched multiple times in the face and head resulting in severe injuries and disfigurement.
Green fled the scene before officers arrived but was quickly located and taken into custody after a brief search of a friend’s residence. The victims were treated at the scene by Perry Ambulance and the male victim was later admitted to Strong Memorial Hospital for his injuries.
Green is charged with assault 2nd degree, a class D felony, criminal mischief 4th degree/prevent emergency call, a class A misdemeanor, harassment 2nd degree, a violation, endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor (2 counts)
Green was transported to the Perry Police Department where he was interviewed and processed. He was arraigned in front of the Honorable Judge Kelsey in Perry Village Court who remanded Green to the Wyoming County Jail on the bail recommendation of the District Attorney’s Office, $20,000 Cash, $40,000 Bond, $80,000 Partially Secured. He will re-appear in court on September 13, 2022, at 3:00p.m.
