GENESEE COUNTY/Felony Lane Gang blamed for recent vehicle larcenies in WNY

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and surrounding law enforcement agencies have been noticing an uptick of larcenies from vehicles in WNY.

The Sheriff’s Office says in many cases the targeted vehicles are parked in hiking areas, county parks, local parks and or parking lots and believe the larcenies from vehicles are being perpetrated by the “Felony Lane Gang”, a well-organized group of individuals that originated in Florida and operate throughout the United States.

The group specialize in “smash and grab” larcenies, stealing purses from vehicles and using victim’s ID’s, credit cards, and checks to commit identity theft crimes.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public to not leave anything of value inside your vehicle while unoccupied.

Any suspicious activity should be reported to the police immediately.
