BATAVIA/BHS students and staff visit substitute teacher who is battling cancer

Video of surprise visit on September 14, 2022

Substitute teacher Jim Owen received a bunch of love and support from Batavia High School students, staff and teachers today when they surprised Owen with a walking parade in front of Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation on Bank street on Wednesday afternoon.

Owen, who was sitting outdoors, (some good planning by Mike Marsh and company) was very surprised to see all the faces of the new school year. Owen is battling cancer and has been unable to join his Batavia City School District family this year. He was made honorary Principal for the day by BHS Principal Paul Kessler.
