GENESEE COUNTY/Big O Farms shows off their one-of-a-kind onion packing facility in Elba/Yunker provides a historical background on the muck during the annual Chamber of Commerce Ag Tour

Max Torrey provides a tour of Big O Farms new packing facility during the 32nd Annual Decision Maker’s Agricultural forum this past Wednesday in Elba. The event was presented by the Agriculture Committee and the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce. Big O Farms produces 100,000 boxes of yellow and red onions a year, shipping 2,000 loads to mostly east coast customers throughout the year. The Torrey family farms 2200 acres of onions between Elba and the Syracuse area with all packing being completed out of their Elba facility at 5520 N. Byron road.
