The GCEDC board has accepted the application for incentives from 8250 Park Road LLC as complete. Next, the project will be brought to residents by a public hearing in the town of Batavia at a later date.

Once a public hearing is held in the town of Batavia, the board will review the project again before considering a resolution that approves the proposed assistance as a final resolution.

The current 192 room hotel is using 140 rooms and the plan is to renovate the building to offer 80 hotel rooms and 80 studio/2-bedroom suites equipped with full kitchens under the brand of Holiday Inn/Candlewood Suites-an extended stay hotel. There will be a bistro in place of the restaurant that has closed, the water park will also be renovated. Three banquet rooms will be created that can handle 100-300 guests.

If all goes as planned, construction will begin in December of 2022 and renovations should be completed by the summer of 2023. Work crews will work on sections of the hotel from December through March, and it will remain open. From April through June the hotel will close and reopen as Holiday Inn/Candlewood Suites sometime in June.

This will be Rudra Management’s 26th hotel. Four years ago, they revamped a building that was closed for 20 years and made it into a hotel on Grand Island.
