GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Batavia man jailed without bail after allegedly threatening to kill a person and their children

John Sumlin III, 43, of Batavia, NY, is charged with burglary 1st degree, criminal contempt 1st degree, criminal mischief 3rd degree, assault 3rd degree and menacing 2nd degree, after allegedly entering the home of the victim unlawfully, then striking the victim, and holding a knife to the victim’s neck, threatening to kill them and the victim’s children on October 23, 2022 at 5:37a.m.

Sumlin then broke the television in the home.

Sumlin was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court and held without bail. He will re-appear in court on November 1, 2022 at 1:00p.m.

Johnnie M. Waston, 39, of Rochester, NY, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment 2nd, following a domestic incident in the Town of Batavia on October 21, 2022 at 7:04a.m.

Waston was arraigned by Justice Mattice in the Town of Stafford Court and re-appeared in the Town of Batavia Court on October 25, 2022.

Connie R. Todd, 51, of Gasport, NY, is charged with DWI and speeding in a 55MPH zone, after a traffic stop on Rt. 63/Lewiston road in the town of Batavia on October 26, 2022 at 1:12a.m.

Todd was issued traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Batavia Town Court on November 10, 2022 at 1:00p.m.
