James J. Santiago Jr., 43, was arrested on October 31, 2022 at 7:37a.m. and charged with assault 2nddegree, strangulation 2nd degree, grand larceny 4th degree, and kidnapping 2nd degree, following a domestic incident investigation by the City of Batavia Police.
Santiago allegedly struck and choked an acquaintance as well as not letting that person exit a vehicle. Santiago then allegedly took the vehicle without the owner’s consent.
He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and remanded to the jail without bail and will re-appear in City Court on November 29, 2022 at 3:00 PM.
Santiago was also arraigned on several outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.
