Daniel Patrick Hurley was looking to restore the Millville historical marker sign at Rt. 31A near West County House road in Millville.

After some brief searching, his prayers were answered.

Hurley found Melissa lerlan, a local historian and code enforcement officer with the Town of Clarendon. lerlan has been restoring historical marker signs since 2015 and has the process perfected.

Hurley says lerlan picked up the sign on Friday morning and the restoration process will take a few weeks.

Hurley says the sign is the focal point of the community of Millville.

Millville is a hamlet in the town of Shelby that was settled in the early 1800’s and was known for its saw and grist mills due to an abundance of water in the area.
