GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Two women jailed without bail after drug investigation

The Genesee County Local Drug Task Force arrested a Rochester woman, and a Batavia woman on Monday afternoon after a 6-month investigation into the possession, transportation and sale of crack cocaine in an around the City of Batavia.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed on Monday afternoon at a residence on Hutchins street in the City of Batavia.

Jennifer M. Moton aka “Miss B“, 38, of Rochester, NY, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, a class B felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance 4th degree, a class C felony and promoting prison contraband 1st degree, a class D felony. Moton, who is currently on interim probation for previous drug charges, was allegedly found to be in possession of 150 bags of cocaine and allegedly entered a secure area at the Genesee County Jail with the cocaine.

Angela R. Bateman, 50, of Batavia, NY, is charged with criminal nuisance 1st degree, a class E felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor. Bateman, who is on parole for previous drug charges, was allegedly found to be in possession of a small quantity of cocaine and was charged for allegedly maintaining a premises where controlled substances where allegedly being sold out of.

Both Moton and Bateman were arraigned and held without bail.

Task Force members were assisted by Batavia Police Officers, Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies, Deputy Mullen and K-9 Frankie and the Genesee County District Attorney’s Office.

Joseph P. Gerwitz, 24, of Lancaster, NY, is charged with aggravated DWI/PER SE, driving with a BAC of .18 % or more/no priors, DWI, and moving from a lane unsafely after a report of a vehicle parked roadside.

Upon arrival at Rt. 63 and Roberts road, deputies found the vehicle crashed into a road sign and Gerwitz was unresponsive at the wheel. After an investigation, it was determined that Gerwitz was intoxicated by alcohol. He was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and released on appearance tickets.

Gerwitz will return to the Town of Alabama Court on December 13, 2022.

David J. Conrad, 34, of East Rochester, is charged with criminal contempt 2nd degree, after an alleged violation of an order of protection on November 23, 2022

Conrad was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Pembroke Town Court on December 22, 2022 at 1:00p.m.
