GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Huntley arrested for promoting prison contraband

Melvin A. Huntley, 41, of Wilkinson Rd., Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with promoting prison contraband 1st degree, promoting prison contraband 2nd degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, on December 13, 2022 at 2:17p.m. while incarcerated at the Genesee County Jail.

The incident occurred on November 16, 2022. Huntley was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released back to into the custody of the Genesee County Jail.

He will appear in City Court on January 3, 2023 at 2:00p.m. to answer the charges.

Arresting deputies, Jonathan Dimmig and Nicholas Chamoun were assisted in the investigation by Genesee County Senior Corrections Officer J. Smart, L. Henning and J. Swimline.

Dustin T. Forkell, 31, of Holley, NY, is charged with falsifying business records 1st degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, and criminal impersonation 2nd degree, after allegedly attempting to conceal his identity by identifying as another person while being processed at the Genesee County Jail on December 11, 2022. Forkell was allegedly in possession of illegal narcotics upon being arrested for a separate offense that occurred in the City of Batavia.

Forkell was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Batavia Court on January 4, 2023 at 1:00p.m. K-9 Frankie assisted in the investigation.

Brett M. Holt, 32, and Kelly M. Holt, 46, both of Medina, NY, are each charged with petit larceny after a call for a larceny in progress at Sally Beauty Supply, 4662 Veteran’s Memorial Drive in Batavia, on December 12, 2022.

Patrols eventually located the pair inside Kohls Department Store. Both Brett and Kelly were then transported back to Sally Beauty Supply where they were positively identified in the incident. The Holt’s are accused of stealing $400 in products from the store.

Brett and Kelly were transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and then issued appearance tickets to appear in Batavia Town Court on January 4, 2023, at 10:00a.m.
