GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Inmate charged after allegedly planning to bring contraband into the jail

Jose A. Rivera, 36, currently a resident of the Genesee County Jail, is charged with criminal contempt 1st degree and attempted promoting prison contraband 1st degree, both class E felonies, after allegedly planning to introduce dangerous contraband into the Genesee County Jail.

Ida M. Vanorden, 36, of Swan St., Batavia, NY is charged with conspiracy 5th degree, a class A misdemeanor, after allegedly planning with Rivera along with another unknown male.

According to Sheriff’s Department investigators, the contraband was intercepted by Corrections Officers at the jail on December 11, 2022. Rivera and Vanorden were charged on December 26, 2022.

Rivera also allegedly violated a stay away order of protection in the process by contacting a protected party.

Rivera and Vanorden were issued appearance tickets and will appear in Batavia City Court on January 3, 2023 and January 10, 2023 at 10:00a.m.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the Sheriff’s Office is attempting to identify the third suspect.

Vicki L. Manns, 52, of Brookville Rd., Alexander, NY, is charged with menacing 2nd degree, criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree, assault 3rd degree and harassment 2nd/physical contact, after a domestic incident in Alexander on December 22, 2022, at 9:28p.m.

Following an investigation, Manns was arrested on December 28, 2022.

Manns allegedly threw an item/tray at a person causing injury to that person, and then allegedly pointed a firearm at the same person during the incident.

Manns was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Alexander Town Court on January 10, 2022, at 5:00p.m.

Lisa A. Worthington, 56, of Park Road, and Raymond L. Kelley, 32, of Oak Street, are each charged with false written statement after allegedly providing false written statements to law enforcement after an alleged assault incident at the Batavia Downs Casino on December 16, 2022 at 10:59p.m.

Worthington is additionally charged with falsely reporting an incident to law enforcement.

Both Worthington and Kelley were released with appearance tickets and will appear in Town of Batavia Court on January 24, 2023 at 10:00a.m.
