ORLEANS COUNTY/Albion Police make an arrest after an investigation into burglaries and larcenies

The Albion Police Department has arrested Bryton M. Hitzges, 20, after nearly a month-long investigation into several burglaries to dwellings, garages, and sheds along with larcenies from vehicles.


On January 4, 2023, about 3:30p.m., the Albion Police Department conducted a search at a residence in the Village of Albion on a warrant where Hitzges was subsequently arrested without incident. While conducting the search, officers recovered over 100 items of stolen property from victims within the Village of Albion.

Hitzges is charged with burglary 2nd degree/to a dwelling, four counts of burglary 3rd degree, 5 counts of petite larceny and criminal mischief 4th degree.

Hitzges was committed to the Orleans County Jail pending arraignment. Upon arraignment, he was
released on his own recognizance.
