In August of 2022, four-year-old Aurora Putney of Perry lost her battle with a rare form of leukemia. On January 16th, Aurora would have celebrated her 5th birthday. Aurora’s family has been thinking of a way to give back to those who were so giving to them during her fight. Aurora was diagnosed in March of 2019.

“We have decided to collect toys and gifts cards/cash whatever people would like to donate to the CURE Childhood Cancer Association,” says Crystal Putney, Aurora’s Mom. “They help all families like us. They give us parking vouchers, so we do not have to worry about paying for parking, food vouchers, gas cards, gifts/toys for the kids who are diagnosed, along with siblings, and they help families with Christmas gifts as well. Whatever we needed, they help where help is needed.”
Crystal has set up three Amazon links where people can order gift cards and they will be sent directly to the CURE office. If people would like to make a cash donation online, they can go to the CURE website below.

Or if people would like to purchase a toy or gift card, and would like to personally give a cash donation, there is a drop off site in Perry and Pike.
Drop off is on Sunday, January 15th from 1-4pm.
Perry location-6640 Burke Hill Road.
Pike location-10 Union Street, Creekside Convenience store- 4200 Rt. 78, Bliss, NY
“We’ve always been thinking of a way to give back to CURE, they have helped us so much along Aurora’s journey. They help other families with Christmas gifts for all the kids that are impacted by cancer, along with parents and their siblings. With Aurora’s birthday at the beginning of the year, we are hoping to replenish all the gifts that CURE has handed out this past Christmas and through 2022. If this is successful, we hope to continue doing this every January.”
