The Owen Library at Go Art! was renamed the James R. Owen Library at Seymour Place on Sunday afternoon with about 50 community members and friends in attendance.
Owen loved to spend time at the library sharing stories, talking about his father Frank E. Owen and about his sister Kathy Owen and her nature photos. The Owen Library officially opened in December of 2021.
Many in attendance also celebrated the life of Jim Owen by sharing many of their own personal stories over the years.
Owen passed away January 19, 2023, after an 8-month battle with cancer.
