BATAVIA POLICE BLOTTER/February 7, 2023

An 18-year-old male of Washington Avenue, Batavia, NY, is charged with Criminal Contempt 1st and Assault 3rd. On 2/1/23, the 18-year-old male was arrested by Officer Defelice for Criminal Contempt 1st degree and Assault 3rd degree after a domestic incident investigation where it is alleged, he was involved in a physical altercation and violated an order or protection.  He was arraigned in Batavia City Court by Judge Burns and remanded to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $500A, $2000B and $5000E. 

Michael A. Shetler, 32, of Judge Road, Oakfield, NY, is charged with Criminal Contempt, Aggravated Family Offense, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.  On 1/27/23, Officer Weglarski arrested Shetler after an investigation in to a 911 hang up call.  It is alleged that a domestic incident took place with a party protected by an order of protection and that Shetler fled the scene in the victim’s car.  Shetler was held at the Genesee County Jail to await arraignment.

Taylor M. Peyman, 31, of Washington Avenue, Batavia, NY, is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st, Aggravated DWI, driving with a BAC .18% or Higher, DWI Second Offense, Failed to Yield the Right of Way and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. On 1/28/23,Officer Gombos arrested Peyman for the above charges after an investigation into a hit and run accident that occurred on Jackson Street.  It is alleged that Peyman struck another vehicle head on and then drove away.  The other motorist involved in the accident pursued Peyman on foot and gave his location to police when he parked in a parking lot on E. Main Street.  Peyman was arrested for the above charges after performing field sobriety tests.  Peyman was issued traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Batavia City Court on 2/8/23 at 9:00a.m.

Jessica L. Holtz, 39, of William Street, Batavia, NY, was arrested on two bench warrants. On 1/29/23, Officer Crossett arrested Holtz after she was released from the Monroe County Jail.  Holtz had two outstanding bench warrants issued by Batavia City Court.  The first warrant was issued in regard to a petit larceny incident from a local business in November of 2021.  The second warrant pertains to a petit larceny incident from a local church in November of 2021.  Holtz was held at Genesee Court Jail to await Centralized Arraignment Part Court.

Krista S. Kiblin, 32, of Mason Avenue, Rochester, NY, is charged with Petit Larceny. On 1/27/23, Officer Defelice arrested Kiblin for Petit Larceny after she allegedly shoplifted from a local business.  Kiblin was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court on 2/14/23 at 1:00pm.

Matthew J. Brown, 38, of Chestnut Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with Owning/Harboring an Unlicensed Dog. On 1/30/23, Officer Rissinger arrested Brown for Owning/Harboring an Unlicensed Dog.  Brown is alleged to have failed to license a dog after being instructed to do so.  Brown was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court on 2/14/23 at 1:00 pm.

Jason W. Lebar, 37, of Bethany Center Road, Bethany, NY, is charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd and Petit Larceny. On 2/1/23, Officer Quider arrested Lebar on an arrest warrant issued by Batavia City Court on the above charges.  It is alleged that during the overnight hours of August 25, 2022, while at a local car dealership, Lebar pried the emblem from the rear of a pickup truck. This act caused significant damage.  Lebar is additionally alleged to have attempted to remove another emblem, destroying it in the process.  Lebar was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released to reappear in Batavia City Court at a later date.

Kyle J. Schroeder, 26, of Clinton Street, Batavia, NY, was arrested on four warrants out of Batavia City Court. On 1/28/23, Officer Freeman arrested Schroeder on four bench warrants issued by Batavia City Court.  The first bench warrant was issued in regard to an arrest on charges of Criminal Trespass and Petit Larceny on 4/25/22.  The second bench warrant was issued in regard to an arrest for Driving While Ability Impaired by Combined Influence of Drugs and Alcohol and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance on 5/11/22. The third bench warrant was issued for Schroeder’s arrest for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance on 8/25/22.  The fourth bench warrant was issued in regard to an arrest for Criminal Mischief on 10/03/22.  Schroeder was held at the Genesee County Jail to await Centralized Arraignment Part Court.
