A Genesee County Grand Jury has indicted Jeffrey A. Hewitt, accusing him of the crime of criminal possession of a weapon third degree, a class D felony, after knowingly possessing a metal knuckle knife on September 25, 2022 in the City of Batavia.

In Count 2, Hewitt is accused of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle first degree, a class E felony, on the same above date, while driving a 2009 Infinity on Summit Street in the City of Batavia while his privilege to operate was suspended or revoked. Hewitt is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol or a drug.

In Count 3, Hewitt is accused of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor on the same above date in the City of Batavia. Hewitt knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, cocaine.

In Count 4, Hewitt is accused of driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, on the same above date in the City of Batavia on Summit Street while operating a 2009 Infinity, while his ability to operate such motor vehicle was allegedly impaired by the use of a drug.

District Attorney Kevin Finnell accuses Hewitt of having been convicted of the crime of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree (two counts), a class D felony, on or about June 28, 2011, in Genesee County, which forms the basis of the current indictment.

Rufus G. Johnson has been indicted and is accused of the crime of burglary third degree, a class D felony.

On October 8, 2022, Johnson knowingly and unlawfully entered a building at 4133 Veteran’s Memorial Drive in the Town of Batavia with intent to commit a crime therein.

In Count 2, Johnson is accused of petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, on the same above date and location for allegedly stealing property belonging to another person.

In Count 3, he is accused of petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, on April 24, 2022 at the same above location for allegedly stealing property that belonged to another person.

Johnnie M. Waston has been indicted and is accused of the crime of criminal mischief third degree, a class E felony, after damaging the property of another person, exceeding the amount of $250, a windshield of a 2017 Nissan Murano on July 21, 2022 in the City of Batavia.
