WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/March 21, 2023

Joseph Martino, 31, of Windsor, NY, was arrested on 03/13/2023 and charged with criminal contempt following an investigation by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office after an incident on February 9, 2023, in Attica, NY.

Martino was arraigned in Attica Court and was transported back to the Genesee County Jail where he is currently being held on unrelated charges.

Hunter L. Vanbuskirk, 24, of Geneseo, NY was arrested following an investigation into a two car
motor vehicle accident on Route 19 in the Town of Warsaw on March 13, 2023. Vanbuskirk was
operating a vehicle and rear ended another car while it was slowing down.
Vanbuskirk allegedly showed signs of impairment on the side of the road and following field sobriety
testing was placed under arrest for DWAI.
Vanbuskirk was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where he underwent a drug influence
evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert. It was determine that Vanbuskirk was allegedly impaired by a drug and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
He is charged with, following too closely, uninspected motor vehicle, and driving
while ability impaired by drugs. Vanbuskirk was issued appearance tickets on all charges and is
scheduled to appear in the Town of Warsaw Court at a later date.

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kevin A. Dennis, 42, of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, following a traffic stop on West Buffalo Street in the Village of Warsaw on March 18, 2023.

Deputies on patrol observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit in front of the Warsaw School. A traffic stop was conducted, and Dennis was found to be suspended in NY. He was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree and issued citations for speeding in zone and aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree.

Dennis is to answer the charges on April 17th, 2023 in the Village of Warsaw Court.

On March 18, 2023, at about 3:53a.m., Deputies Harding and Kemp of the Wyoming
County Sheriff’s Office were operating stationary patrol on Route 20A, in the Town of
Sheldon, when a white 2020 Chevrolet Malibu was observed traveling eastbound at a high rate of
speed entering the hamlet of Varysburg.

Deputies pursued the vehicle and initiated a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop on Route 20A near Syler Road.

Deputies made contact with the driver, Stefon D. King, 47, of Philadelphia, PA. A data check of King’s license showed he had a suspended Pennsylvania license and his driving privileges in New York were also suspended two times for failure to answer a summons in the Town of Cornwall.

During the roadside interview, King allegedly exhibited signs of possible impairment and deputies initiated a roadside DWI investigation. Following field sobriety testing, King was placed under arrest and charged with driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a breath test, which showed King had a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher.

King is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or more, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree, Speed in Zone and Unlicensed Operator. King was processed and released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.

On March 18, 2023 at approximately 11:47a.m., Deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s
Office responded to a residence in Silver Springs to execute a parole warrant on a Dustin
Ellwood.

While attempting the warrant, Ellwood fled the residence but was quickly
apprehended. Ellwood was arrested on the parole warrant and held at the Wyoming
County Jail.
A search of Ellwood’s person was conducted at the scene and suspected methamphetamines was located in his pockets. He was issued appearance tickets for criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and obstructing governmental administration 2nd degree.

Ellwood is to appear in Silver Springs Court on April 3rd, 2023 to answer the charges.
New York State Police assisted with the incident.

Jaquln A. Dueppengiesser, 39, and Shawnna Lamont, 33, both of Perry, NY, were arrested following a
larceny investigation. Both Dueppengiesser and Lamont were each charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th degree after it was reported that they had used another person’s credit card information to transfer money to themselves via Cash App, without the card owner’s permission. Both were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Perry Court at a later date.
