The Firing Pin, an indoor shooting range and store at 8240 Buffalo Road was damaged by a fire late Friday afternoon. Heavy smoke from the fire could be seen well off Rt. 490 and surrounding area. Fire crews from Bergen and LeRoy initially responded followed by a 2nd alarm response from Byron, South Byron, Stafford, Town of Batavia, City of Batavia and several companies out of Monroe County also responded.
The fire appears to have started at the back of the building. According to Bergen Fire Chief Kevin Bruton, all occupants were out of the building upon his arrival. NYS Police on scene say there is no criminal investigation in the fire and the scene was in control of the Bergen Fire Department. No one was injured in the blaze and the cause is currently being investigated.
