BATAVIA POLICE BLOTTER/May 8, 2023

Jordan E. Hamilton, 26, of Baker Road, Kent, NY, is charged with tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a controlled substance.  On 4/24/23, Officer Yung arrested Hamilton at a gas station on East Main Street on the above charges after investigating a report of an intoxicated male operating a vehicle.  Hamilton was a passenger in the vehicle. It is alleged that he possessed controlled substances and he tampered with evidence.  Hamilton was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court on 5/02/23 at 1:00 pm and released.

Jacob W. Patterson, 27, of Kilian Road, Pembroke, NY, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, obstructing governmental administration and operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. On 4/24/23, Officer Yung and Officer Gombos arrested Patterson at a gas station on East Main Street for the above charges after investigating a report of an intoxicated male operating a vehicle.  It is alleged that Patterson was impaired by drugs while operating a motor vehicle, that he possessed controlled substances and that he attempted to run from officers before being subdued and arrested.  Patterson was issued an appearance ticket and traffic tickets to appear in Batavia City Court on 5/10/23 at 9:00 am and released.

Casey T. Vaughn, 33, of East Main Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with harassment 2nd degree, strangulation 2nd degree, criminal mischief 4th degree and aggravated family offense. On 4/28/23, Officer Freeman arrested Vaughn on the above charges following an investigation into a disturbance that occurred on East Main Street.  Vaughn allegedly strangled and struck a female and broke a mirror.  Vaughn was arraigned at the Genesee County Jail by Centralized Arraignment Part Court and held on $10,000 bail. 

Casey T. Vaughn, 33, of East Main Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with criminal mischief 4th degree and criminal tampering 3rd degree. On 4/28/23, Officer Messmer arrested Vaughn on the above charges at Batavia Police Headquarters.  It is alleged that Vaughn spit on the wall, floor, bench and desk in an interview room.  Additionally, it is alleged that Vaughn pulled molding off of the wall, causing damage.  Vaughn was issued an appearance ticket and turned over the Genesee County Jail on other charges.

Cassandra F. Smith, 37, of Manhattan Avenue, Batavia, NY, was arrested on four warrants issued by Batavia City Court. Smith was first arrested on 4/08/23 on two counts of petit larceny after she allegedly stole property from different yards on Manhattan Avenue.  Smith was issued appearance tickets and failed to appear in court after which warrants were issued.  On 4/14/23, Smith is alleged to have committed criminal tampering and trespass at a residence on Ross Street by being on the property after being trespassed earlier by police and throwing garbage/other items at the residence.  A warrant was requested.  On 4/23/23, Smith is alleged to have again trespassed at the residence on Ross Street and was captured on Ring cam.  A warrant was requested. On 4/26/23, Officer Freeman arrested Smith on all warrants.  Smith was transported to the Genesee County Jail for Centralized Part Court Arraignment.  Status unknown. 

Tanika N. Avant, 21, of Bank Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with two counts of harassment 2nd degree and endangering the welfare of a child. On 4/28/23, Officer Moscicki arrested Avant on the above charges after an investigation into a disturbance.  It is alleged that Avant engaged in a physical altercation with another person and during the course of that altercation also struck a juvenile.  Avant was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released to reappear on 5/11/23 at 1:30 pm.

James T. Hardaway, 39, of Utica Street, Brockport, NY, is charged with speeding, unlicensed operation, and driving while intoxicated. On 4/30/23, Officer Weglarski arrested Hardaway on the above charges after a traffic stop on Clinton Street.  Hardaway was issued traffic tickets to appear in Batavia City Court on 5/17/23 at 9:00 am and released.

Misty R. Scutt, 34, of Exchange Street, Attica, NY, is charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs. On 4/26/23, Officer Weglarski arrested Misty Scutt for driving while ability impaired by drugs after awaiting bloodwork to return from a traffic stop that occurred on 1/28/23.  Scutt turned herself in at Batavia Police Headquarters and was issued traffic tickets to appear in Batavia City Court on 5/10/23 at 9:00am. 

Hunter M. Passage, 22, of Dellinger Avenue, Batavia, NY, is charged with no headlamps, speed in zone, and driving while ability impaired by drugs. On 4/27/23, Sgt. Cowen arrested Passage on the above charges after a traffic stop at a gas station on West Main Street.  Passage was issued traffic tickets to appear in Batavia City Court on 5/10/23 at 9:00 am and released.
