Maceo Harrison, 27, (Savannah Bananas dancing first base coach) was on hand last week teaching dance students the choreography for their opening number at their dance recital at Batavia High School on June 10th as well as for their performance at the home opening performance at the Muckdogs game at Dwyer Stadium on June 6, 2023. Harrison has been assisting Law Dance Studio since they opened at 218 West Main Street in Batavia five years ago. Owner Lisa Blaun, an Elba H.S. graduate, worked with Harrison at the same studio in Georgia about 10 years ago. She says the past three years Harrison has been assisting students with their performances/choreography for Muckdogs games and their recitals. He usually stops in at Law Dance Studio a few times a year. Harrison is known for his hip hop choreography.

“What its teaching the kids is to work with a professional outside of the Batavia or Rochester area, he is somebody who has been in the business,” says Blaun.

Blaun wants people to know there are many different areas in the dance field.

“For a lot of people, they don’t know that you can go on with dance in different avenues, for Maceo it’s the dancing first base coach, which it’s crazy to think about, because we think of regular baseball, and now we have the Savannah Bananas, which is the Globetrotters of baseball, it’s great for the kids to see it and then get to work with him.”
