VIDEO of Carl J. Stephens’ last ride with his 1950 A1 John Deere- accompanied by a convoy of modern-day John Deere tractors in a ride from Gilmartin Funeral Home to St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Ellicott Street. Carl’s grandchildren prepped the convoy, taking a full day to clean up each tractor for the procession on May 16, 2023. The tractors returned to their field work after the procession.
In 1982, Carl and his brother Robert started Stephens Farm at the corner of Prole Road and Horseshoe Lake Road in Stafford, his son David joined in1984 and the farm is currently being run by David and fourth generation grandson Carl David.
