GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Batavia woman charged with welfare fraud

Emily Nichols, 33, of Batavia, NY, is charged with welfare fraud 3rd degree after being arrested by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department after an investigation by Robert Riggi, an investigator with Genesee County Social Services.

Nichols allegedly failed to report the wages of her husband, resulting in her receiving $7,885 in SNAP benefits she was not entitled to.

Nichols was arrested and arraigned in Batavia Town Court and released on recognizance to appear at a later date.

Kenneth D. Robinson Jr., 49, of Seven Springs Rd., Batavia, NY, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, after being stopped for a VTL violation on Rt. 33 in Stafford, NY on June 4, 2023, at 1:59AM.

During the stop, a glassine bag containing crack cocaine was located in the vehicle.

Robinson was arrested and transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing. He was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in Stafford Town Court on July 13, 2023.

Gregory A. Palone, 60, of Tennessee, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or more, and no/insufficient tail lamp on June 4, 2023, at 1:27AM.

Palone was processed at the Genesee County Jail and released on traffic tickets returnable to Batavia Town Court on June 22, 2023, at 1:00PM.
