On July 3, 2023, at 6:28 P.M., Troopers out of SP Batavia responded to Maple Road in the town of Alabama for a ATV/Side-by-side collision.
Investigation determined that Michael D. Borkholder, 60, of Oakfield, NY was operating a 2008 Can-Am Outlander Max XT south bound on Maple Road and failed stop and struck the rear end of a 2021 CF Moto ZForce 950 slowing to make a turn into a driveway.
Borkholder was ejected and was transported by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center with severe injuries. Borkholder succumb to his injuries later that night at ECMC.
