WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Warsaw man jailed without bail, accused of attacking a person

On June 30, 2023, at about 5:53am, deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, as
well as officers from the Warsaw Police Department and Troopers from the New York State
Police, responded to a residence on Route 19, in the Town of Warsaw, for a 911 call,
requesting police to the residence for an unknown problem.

While responding to the scene, the Wyoming County Dispatch Center was able to obtain information that the complainant had been assaulted by another male and it was believed the male had fled the scene.

Deputies arrived on scene, and determined that Joseph E. Richardson, 37, of Warsaw, NY, had allegedly
entered the residence of a protected party that had an order of protection against him, and
Richardson then attacked another male when the male entered the residence.

Richardson was located at the scene and was taken into custody without incident. Richarson was charged with aggravated family offense, a class E-felony and criminal contempt 2nd degree, a class A-misdemeanor.

Richardson was arraigned in front of the Honorable Judge Sundt, of the Warsaw Town Court,
and was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of no bail. Richrdson is scheduled to
appear in the Town of Warsaw Court at a later date.

On July 6, 2023, at approximately 3:15 A.M., a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a
traffic stop on East Buffalo Street in the Village of Warsaw for speed in a zone.

After a DMV check, it was found the driver of the vehicle, Eric Sifuentes, 44, of Toronto, Canada, had his driving privileges suspended in New York State for failure to answer summons.

Sifuentes was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and other
traffic infractions. Sifuentes was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in Warsaw Village
Court on July 24, 2023.

A traffic stop for speeding in a zone on Route 78 in the Town of Java on July 6, 2023, 48-year-old Daniel Mercado of Buffalo, NY is charged with DWAI/Drugs.

Mercado allegedly displayed signs of impairment roadside and performed poorly on his field sobriety tests. Mercado screened negative for alcohol, which was not consistent with his current level of impairment.

Mercado was placed under arrest for felony DWI drugs/Leandra’s Law, after it was discovered his 13 year
old son was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of operation. Mercado was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a DRE evaluation. It was further determined that Mercado was allegedly under the influence of cannabis and unable to operate a vehicle safely.

He is charged with DWI/Drugs, aggravated DWI/drugs with child passenger less then 16 years old, and
speed in zone (57/35)

Mercado was processed and issued an appearance ticket the charges and is due back in the
Town of Java Court on 07/19/23.

On July 5, 2023, at approximately 11:41 P.M., a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a
traffic stop on West Buffalo Street in the Village of Warsaw, for a lighting violation.

After a DMV check, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle, Randy Furbee, 25, of Kingwood, West Virginia, had his driving privileges suspended in New York State for failure to answer a summons.

Furbee was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and other
traffic infractions. Furbee was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in Warsaw Village Court
on July 24, 2023
