GENESEE COUNTY/K-9 Frankie to retire as his handler has resigned his position as Deputy

Deputy Andrew Mullen has resigned his position as Deputy K-9 handler at the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department.

“Deputy Mullen submitted his resignation and requested to take ownership of Frankie. The effectiveness of a Police K-9 is typically six to nine years.  We made the decision, pending the legislature’s approval, to retire Frankie and honor Deputy Mullen’s request. At this time, we will not be replacing Frankie with another K-9,” says Sheriff William Sheron Jr.
